Luke Black’s large scale installation for the Khuzama Lounge showcases masterful craftsmanship through layered textures and meticulous detail.
Starting with a micro cement base that creates a broken, organic texture, the work is built up with a cement-based stucco to form a dynamic, geometric surface full of depth and movement. Delicate khuzama flower motifs are stencilled into the texture, with negative spaces hand-painted in light-bodied acrylics and inks, introducing subtle tonal variations and fluidity.
