This library’s artwork collection is inspired by the quiet magic of books.
Asma Bahmim’s practice beautifully blends literature with visual art, drawing on the gentle wisdom of Kahlil Gibran and the nostalgic feel of old, well-loved books.
Theworks, created using Panama paper layers with cotton paper gouache colour and gold leaf embellishments - reflect the intricate stages of bookmaking, weaving in details like delicate embroidery stitched with golden threads and subtle marks of aging that hint at history, use, and memory.
